Insertion Order

Insertion Order Definition - What is an Insertion Order?

An insertion order referred to the summarized agreement between an advertiser and a client regarding the scope and duration of an advertising campaign, such as a newspaper ad, television commercial, pay-per-view, podcast ad, or other similar advertising campaign. When used to refer to online media, an insertion order specifies the exact payment structure a campaign will run with and how that will affect the campaign scope and duration. This is where an advertiser and advertising party agree on terms such as whether to use CPM, CPA, CPC, or some other metric, and what the cost will be.
