RSS Feed

RSS Feed Definition - What is a RSS Feed?

An RSS feed is a website tool that allows a user to get updates when a website publishes new content. Users get the updates through special software called RSS Readers or RSS Aggregators. Once you add a website's RSS feed to them, it will automatically pull in any new content that gets put on that website. This is much more convenient and quicker than having to return to multiple websites, multiple times a day or week. It's a time saving feature that busy people can utilize to streamline their web content viewing. It's especially convenient for sites that feature news updates or heavily trafficked blogs.
